A bachelor, a lake home, and a mix of elements and style created: MODERN MIX.
This client hired me to start with a few small projects in the main level, such as a new backsplash and new floor color. It quickly turned into a second level addition (designed by Architect Dennis Dinser, photography by angelabrownphotography.com) and the designing of a new master suite, a secondary bathroom, two additional bedrooms, and renovating the family room as well as completely refinishing the exterior colors, lighting and deck at the lakeside.
Some of the beautiful elements that make an impact are the masculine textured limestone tiles for shower and bath walls. When I interviewed with this client he mentioned he did not want the design to be completely about him, otherwise not too masculine, as there would be a woman in his life someday again.
We followed the request, the design is warm but casually contemporary, and sophisticated yet slightly masculine. The great room fireplace facade is Halquist real quartzite stone ledgers and the master bathroom is covered with limestone tiles. Both fireplaces are new additions to the home.
I’m happy to say that he got engaged during our time working together and was married at the end of the remodeling project. He and his beautiful new wife are enjoying lake living and are now renovating the attached guest suite.
